White Sharks Global aims to provide a forum to meet, share ideas, and progress key areas of white shark research. As such, we will have ten workshops over three days.

Workshops

Presentations

Two days of White Sharks Global will be dedicated to presentations from attendees, following traditional conferences. However, the majority of presentations will be 5-minute lightning talks, maximising the breadth of research presented within two days.

Plenaries

Monday and Tuesday will both begin with a 30-minute plenary. Speakers will be confirmed and announced as conference abstracts are accepted.

Presentations

Both presentation days will have 10 available spots for standard 12-minute presentations. White Sharks Global aims to divide these equitably by geography, theme, and presenters’ career stage.

Lightning talks

Lightening talks will be the cornerstone of the White Sharks Global presentations. With 21 lightening talks on both Monday and Tuesday, these fast-paced, result-centred presentations will enable attendees to hear the newest findings from scientists around the world.

Posters

White Sharks Global welcomes abstracts for posters from attendees, and we encourage those who would like to share results from multiple projects to submit abstracts for both a poster and a presentation.

Guidelines

All posters should be horizontal if possible, and A1 size

Printing

Pulp and Willow offers A4-A0 poster printing. Poster PDFs can be emailed through and printed in Port Lincoln for those who would like to avoid traveling with a poster.

Social & evening events

Join us on Sunday night for a welcome function after the first day of workshops.

The Monday evening poster session is a great opportunity to engage with researchers from around the world.

Take a break from the conference on Wednesday for a trip to the Neptune Islands to cage dive with white sharks.

Catch up with students and colleagues Tuesday evening at Beer Garden Brewing

WSG will wrap up on Friday night with a conference dinner at the Port Lincoln Hotel.
